Hey Team,

We’ve got 20 days until the CrossFit Open starts.

firsts in the Open

I’m sure you’ve seen our posts of members’ reasons for the doing the Open. Everyone has their reasons but the one in the image above resonated with me. In the last 5 years I have personally witnessed countless “FIRSTS” in the Open. First T2B, first pull-up, first handstand push-up and first muscle up (to name a few).

~Competition brings out the best in people~

For the 5 weeks of the Open people are focused on improving themselves and it trickles down into their regular lives. We see people eat better, work a little harder on mobility, listed a little more intently in class, go to bed earlier and generally focus on excelling personally.

The Open isn’t about qualifying for Regionals or making it to the Games. For 99.9% of us it’s about being a little better than we were yesterday. The Open will bring that out in you. I promise. If that’s not reason enough to put your throw yourself into the Open, I don’t know what is.
