Coaches Notes

Hey Team,

We are in week 4 for our Jacked & Tanned Challenge (performance nutrition & gettin' ripped) and the results we've been seeing are amazing! Congrats to everyone that has jumped in on the Challenge & I'm looking forward to seeing your PhysioGraph measurement in week 8! One of things we talk about is Healthy Eating on the Go and as I was doing a little recon, I came across a very simple and IMO intelligent thought on how to choose a protein bar. We are often in a pinch and need a little quick nutrition. Here are the criteria that we should look for when choosing a protein bar:

  1. High Quality Ingredients. This is the most important piece. No chemicals, no processing, the closer to 'whole' the better.
  2. High Protein. 20+ grams of protein per bar (leaves you feeling full, provides muscle building blocks, stabilizes blood sugar)
  3. High Fiber. 5+ grams per bar (controls cravings & blood sugar)

Quest Bars (some, not all) fall into this category. Here are the Quest Bars that fit all 3 of the criteria:

  • Coconut Cashew
  • Chocolate Peanut Butter
  • Strawberry Cheesecake
  • Banana Nut Muffin
  • Cinnamon Roll

There are others, but these guys win on taste and quality. #winallthethings
