Hey Team,

Tomorrow is not only Jeff Wilson's (aka JDub) Member of the Month WOD but it's CFS' 2nd Anniversary Party!

We'll be running Jeff's workout @ 930 and 11 and again @ 1:30 during the party!

If you'd like to join us for 'JDUB', food, drinks, a sumo suit relay race and about as much fun as you could have on a Saturday, afternoon we'd love to have you. 1-4pm!

If you missed Jeff's MotM post in the newsletter, here it is:

Jeff and Michelle

CFS Member of the Month (MOTM)

Names: Jeff Wilson
Nickname: J Dub

What were you doing before CFS?
  • I was a member at CFCB since May 2013. I joined CFS as soon as it opened. Before that I was working out at my office gym, running, things like that.
How did you find CFS and what did you expect?
  • I found CFS through CFCB. I was hoping it would be a great group of people, like CFCB. It’s been exactly that! Great people, coaches, friends, and community.
What have you gotten out of CF at CFS (goals reached, accomplishments, etc)?
  • More than I can list. I’ve met some great friends. I’ve become much stronger and improved my mobility (which may be hard to believe). I’ve hit PRs on my lifts, learned muscle ups, butterfly pullups, HSPUs.
What are you working on now/hoping to achieve in the coming months/year?
  • I’d like to learn how to butterfly my C2Bs. I’d like to get more consistent with my muscle ups and get better technique with my HSPUs. Continue to work on my snatch technique (especially squat snatches). Improve my mobility in my shoulders, hips and quads.
What do you like to do outside CFS?
  • I like to ski in the winter and play softball and Ultimate Frisbee in the summer. I recently tried dragon boat racing and that was pretty fun! A favourite thing to do is just sit around a backyard or patio with some friends, a couple beers and just hang out.
Favorite joke? Or quote?
  • Worrying is like a rocking chair; it gives you something to do but doesn’t get you anywhere
If you could be a Crossfit movement what would you be and why?
  • A butterfly pullup. When you see it, it looks so easy and fluid. When you try it, you realize how so many little technical things make up the movement.  If you miss one, the timing gets messed up and you start flailing.
Anything else you would like to share about yourself?
  • Crossfit is one of the things I look forward to most about my day. I usually go at lunch and it helps me a ton. I come back to the office in a better mood with my mind refreshed. It helps me avoid the 2’oclock coma I use to feel.
  • Going down to the Crossfit Games is one of the funnest weeks of my year. Sunshine, beach/ocean, watching amazing athletes, beers and more laughs than you can possibly imagine.
