Coaches Notes

Hey Team,

Today is very special day. Not only are we celebrating our Members of the Month, Cole & Luke Hibbert, but we are also celebrating the life of their mother Susan. The Hibbert’s have been part of the CFCB family for almost 5 years and you will often see Cole & Luke practicing their skills in the back of the box before the Teens class on Tuesdays & Thursdays. This August will mark 5 years since Cole & Luke (along with brothers Liam and Dean, and sister Rose) lost their mother and Dan lost his wife. Cole & Luke chose ‘Susan’ as their Member of the Month WOD and I am looking forward to tackling this one alongside them.

Here’s the MOTM interview with the boys:

    Why do you like Crossfit?
    What are your favourite movements?
How is it having your family all involved in CrossFit?
What sorts of movements have you been able to learn?
If it's you were a Crossfit movement which would it be?

Luke's response

I love being able to work out with a friendly class and great coaches. There is a really great community at CrossFit and it is an environment that is super great to excursive in, I always feel more motivated and encouraged by everyone there. The workouts are well programmed and there is always a good range of movements
Favorite movements are bar muscle ups, butterfly pull-ups, box jumps, handstand pushups and shake-weight.
It's super cool to have my family involved in CrossFit as I can see them all improving and getting new movements, and being able to encourage them as they  develop their fitness, and having them encourage  my own fitness. also having people to talk about gains with.
Since I started CrossFit, I have learned all sorts of movements like pull-ups, butterfly pull-ups, chest to bar, handstands and handstand push-ups, muscle ups on the bar and rings and toes to bar. Also learning the majestic screaming salmon from CrossFit Kids.

Cole's response

I like CrossFit because it is really fun,and you can learn how to do cool stuff, and there is a real community, with everyone being supportive.
My favourite movements are pull-ups, box jumps, and running (if you call that a movement).
I really like having my family involved because we can talk (or complain) about the workouts, and I always  feel really supported by them, which is nice.
I've been able to learn stuff like pull-ups, strict pull-ups, handstands, and (kipping) handstand push-ups.
I would be a bar-facing burpee over the bar, cause you can't get over me.
