CFCB: How long have you been CrossFitting?
JP:I have been crossfitting for almost 2 years now. I started down in Lethbridge at Crossfit Framework while I was in my last year of university. A friend convinced me to come to a free trial class. We went at 9:30 to "moms class" and I was so impressed with all the crazy strong women (and men) there. I was immediately hooked.

CFCB: Tell us about one of your favourite/most memorable moments in CrossFit
JP:My favourite moments would have to be when someone gets a PR, accomplishes a "first" and pushes themselves to do something they never thought possible and the whole class is right there cheering them on. Everyone is so supportive of each other and it's pretty incredible to be a part of.
CFCB: What do you love most in a workout?
JP: Well since napping for time isn't a workout... I guess I love heavy lifting! A good heavy squat, deadlift or clean day I can always get on board with for the strength portion. I usually prefer chippers or longer AMRAPs where it's more about pacing or maintaining a steady pace. Me and sprinting aren't the best of friends..
CFCB: What goals do you have for yourself for the future?
JP:A muscle up one day is definitely up there! One day I want a heavy, crisp squat snatch that's heavier than my power. The list goes on but overall, I want to keep improving all around, especially with gymnastic movements!
CFCB: To you, what is the best thing about CFCB?
JP: I think the best thing about CFCB is the community, everyone is so welcoming, friendly and encouraging. There's a competitive side to all workouts but at the end of the day everyone is there to improve themselves and has the whole community behind them. It's a pretty incredible atmosphere from the moment you walk into the box.
